Lift question 03 screw 2wd

why would you SAS a 2wd truck??? Without a Tcase sending power to a Dana 44 or something its literally pointless. Sell your truck and get a 4x4 and SAS that. I've never understood the concept of a lifted 2wd????

im sure when he does the sas he will swap the tail shaft in the tranny and add a tcase

you do realize the custom modifications that would have to be made for it to work correct? And the price tag thT comes with it? These arnt Toyotas to add a tcase some serious chassis modifications would have to be made., he could sell his truck and buy a 4x4 and be better off then a 8k SAS 2wd. I'm assuming he wouldn't be using junkyard axles and doing it right, easily 15-20 hours of work, and unless your extremely good with this kind of thing like A7X you could seriously f**k something up and kill someone on the road.

the amount of times I've heard someone say that. The dumbest thing I've ever heard, I'm not even being a d**k... Its just one of those things that gets on my nerves. unless you literally just have a big pile of money that makes you sick to look at...buy a damn 4x4 lol

I'll have to see it to believe it.. Frames are completely different the way the driveshaft and the tcase are you'd run straight into the cross-members, your talking frame off job. Not just a few c notches in the frame. Hence my skepticism.

Idk why everyone with a 2wd wants more clearance. (Yes I used to be one of those guys, but I really did use my truck offroad very often, and Lift/locker/gears/35s on my 2wd was significantly cheaper than buying a 4wd) But, If I would do it all over again I think I'd put my money more into the performance side of suspension a la pseudo "prerunner" with a locker and A/Ts and just hit stuff with more speed. I feel like if you wanted to do some off-roading with your 2wd, i feel like it would yield more performance off the road. A different approach but who knows. But, I think most people do it cause of the macho aspect a 4x4 gives off.
