I hear yuh, maybe later. SAS would be a nice upgrade over IFS. Hopefully I can get the IFS solid enough to where I'm throwing it out of alignment every other chuck hole. Specially w/larger tires.

What are your plans for the rear? What are your off-roading plans? You put up some pictures of your tires in another thread. They're great tires. Are you sticking with those?

I've seen enough of your posts to know that you know what your options are. It's hard to say anything without knowing what you're plans are for the back end.
Post 3 is what's going on in the rear. I think I'm going to hold off on that for a few days, just to make sure that's the best option. I think it is.

No tires or rims yet. I can wait for those until I'm ready to shoot paint on the body.

Offroading, - dunes, perhaps a little jumping, trails...No mud, - that will take discipline.

You could always use a a 1" lift shackle to help eliminate some of the block. But a shim would be required to get the right angle.

That seems like it might be more stable, as long as the shackle was heavy enough.

So they sell a spring shim to offset the shackle then ? A spring shop ? I could find one I expect.

So a GOOD 4" sus lift is going to cost me 2G, - no way around that ehh ?

@Carcrazygts2 I appreciate the help. I have a set of Bilstiens that I was going to give to another guy, but he sold his truck. So if you want them or know of someone that needs them , they are all yours. Low miles, hell they even still look good.

I'm going to need brake lines as well correct ?

I don't think there is.

For me, I'm just not sure it's worth it. I've got Thousand$ going into the gears & lockers by winters. Along with the new engine and interior I feel like I'm spending more than I'm getting.

I think I'm going to find slightly lower blocks (to replace the bump stops) and add the BL along with the stock running boards. Maybe that will get me through the rest of the build and I'll reexamine BL after everything else is done. There are just so many other pressing things for my truck.

Shoot man, If I were to add everything up for this restore....just the tools in order to do everything myself was and still is going to be a heavy investment. I haven't purchased my paint guns yet lol...well the ones I'm going to use to shoot the truck anyway.

So here's the kit at this point, -

http://racecardynamics.com/4wd/89-4-...nsmission.html

About 500 bucks an inch.

I'm going to have to call them to see if I can upgrade the shocks possibly.

Yea, I have the E4OD/4R100 trans and this kit specifies it will work with that.

Another question, that I think I know the answer too. The kit specifies just a 4" lift for a Screw. I believe that's because the Screws have shorter bars correct ? Since the truck is a 98 SC it has the longer bars so with this same kit I can get more lift out of it. I may have to go with which ever height is best for factory pre-load. If that even makes a difference. I can figure that out when the time comes. So, just throwing down some thoughts with room for adjustment lol.
