Default lift kit help

I have a 1997 Ford F150 Lariat 4.6 V8. It is 2x4 but I need something to lift it. Its still all stock. I upgraded my tires to General Grabbers a few months ago. All I need to know is do I need a leveling kit or lift kit. My issue is when I go fishing or hunting I go offroad to get to some of my spots and water/mud splashes into my engine. Any help will be awesome. Jesse

The deeper the stuff you go through the more lift you'll need to get out of it although your tires will clear out and fling mud/water all over so a lift might not solve your problem

You lost your inner fender well attachments. See all those empty holes inside the wheel well ? Lower wheel arch guards. 2 wheel drives are flat arcoss, 4wd's are fingered and seal the gap above and stretch just past the top shock bushing, hiding it. They always fall off of these Fords because the push-pins are too small. Trashes the engine compartment. There's a front wheel well guard as well and that also falls off. The piece looks like a rectangle with a corner missing .

you can have as big of a lift that you want, but in the end if you don't have the guards your engine will still get dirty. Ask Jackedup00 lol

Ok arch guards for sure. Now should I do a lift or level? And how much would I need?

I personally would just get a leveling kit.

And let the engine compartment get trashed? That was his concern right? That's why the thread was started right?

Copemint88 , you order the front one at LMC and and a few other body panel stores. The others you can make out of rubber and Auto-zone or most parts shops carry push pins. You purchase these right off the rack.

These protect the engine compartment, -mine never gets dirty, just have tyo dust it once in awhile. Also they will keep your core support from rusting out.

If you can't locate the stuff, I'll post a few links. Lift kits will do absolutely nothing but make matters worse x4. Specially the body lifts . Leveling should be okay.

Not sure why no ones giving you the facts, but there you have them.

A salvage yard MIGHT have some if your lucky.

If you read my other comments you would've seen that I said either way he would still need the weather guard things. I already went over that and said if he wanted to lift it still I would get a leveling kit. But I would also strongly recommend getting new guards.
