Lift kit and bigger tires
Hi. I have a 2003 ford f150 supercab 4x4 and i want it to look a little bigger. I do go offroading and i am on a budget but i am open to almost any options. I want to put bigger tires on it and i want to do some sort of lift or maybe even crank up the torsion bars but i don't know what would be best for me. I also use the truck as my daily driver so i would like to not completely kill my gas mileage and i still need to be able to fit my quad into the back without having to have 20 foot ramps to get it in.
Thanks
PS i am 17 years old and i am limited to working in my driveway with some friends and my dad so i can't do any thing that is custom or requires welding.

33" tires are about the biggest you can go without totally killing your gas mileage. you can fit them stock but you wont have much wheel travel, cranked t-bars will look better with 33's, a suspension lift will cost more but will be easier to install than a body lift and will be more function able off road.
I'd say go with a small suspension lift with 33" tires

a leveling kit just raises the front up so the truck sits level, but since we have torsion bars we can just crank them to get a free leveling job.
I have a 3" suspension lift which is just a small lift, but they might make a 2" or less if you dont want it to have a lifted look

And OP. Alot of people are gonna say no. But go buy a performance accessorcies 5" body lift. Its basically a 3" body lift with a leveling kit and block or add a leaf for the rear. If i was you i would put a 2" body lift on. Crank your t-bars about 1.5-2". And put an add a leaf in the rear. Should be good for around 4" total. And the best part, whenever you want to go buy a 6" suspension lift, you can leave that and be pushing 8-10" of lift total.

If you really want to be cheap. You can make your own 2" body lift out of hockey pucks. I plan on doing that myself. But warning: if you dont have time to do it right, you must have he time and money to do it over.
When it comes to what goes into my truck, i personally spend the little bit more money on quality parts. All the rubber bushings and what not are slowly being transitioned to moog parts with their lifetime warranty.
As for the hockey puck lift, my plans are 2 pucks per body mount. With a peice of pipe in the middle as reinfircement, but about 3/8" shorter than the pucks on both ends. With a flat washer between them. Should hold up really well and add a little bit more cushion to my ride. And as far as tires. 32x11.50 is a popular size, they dont look huge, they wont suck your mileage down, but they still provide a beefier look than stock. Personally i think you should go with 33x12.50 m/t tires.

yea sure if you want to fight rusted bolts, get 6 people to help remove the bed, fight more rusted bolts, jack the body up and put spacers in and bolt all them down then yea much easier then jackin the frame up, removing a few bolts and putting a little lift in. your choice
