Default LED light bar custom install

Hey guys, after tirelessly searching the internet for an example I figured I would come straight to the source.
I am interested in potentially installing a LED light bar into my 2003 F150 XLT. I plan to move the license plate and put the light bar in the housing of the bumper. I dont have a picture of my truck but found a few pics from the internet. Havent really decided if I want to just put a smaller light bar larger middle section, or if I want to go ahead and go big and do some cutting and fill the whole gap. Just wondering if anyone has toyed with this idea before and has any input/ advice.
Also, in general regardless of location of the light bar, what type of beam lighting do you guys prefer? spot? flood? or combo? My gut is just do combo to get the best of both worlds.... I know it depends on what you plan to use it for. Just looking for any input on what you guys use it for, how you like it,etc . Thanks for reading any input is much appreciated.

I have two 6" combo light bars in my fog light holes and the output is amazing, and the 30" bar I haven't installed yet is a combo and it's ridiculously bright

Just the fog lights are on in that pic

I measured to put my 30" bar in that center hole on the bumper and it was too long to go between the frame rails so you'll want a 20". There's a guy on here who has a 20" bar in that spot without his valence and I'm not sure how he mounted it but its obviously doable.

Damn those are bright, and they look awesome ! So did you wire them to a separate switch? or just tap into the factory fog light wiring?
And thanks for the heads up about the measurement! Ill definitely go with a 20", save money and frustration.
So I am wondering, do the kits typically come with the correct mounts to mount them to the frame rail with just some simple drilling?? Im not too sure the best way to go about mounting it. Thanks again man!

They're on the factory fog light harness. They have foot brackets on them so what you'd probably need to do is build a cross bracket to go between the frame rails to bolt it to.

Here's the brackets I was talking about, the big bars come with the same hardware. And I also drew up what I was talking about on my little app here just for visual reference.

I had a 20 inch bar mounted under my bumper. It came in handy many times.

Looks good man. So looks like you just used the hardware that came with the lights to mount it directly tithe bumper?

Yeah I just drilled two holes in the bottom of the bumper and used the hardware that came with the bar. It was really easy to do.
