Yesterday my new '01 Sport w/134k started clicking on the drivers side under acceleration. While cruising at a steady speed the click is inaudible. After poking around a bit it seems like a manifold, doesn't seem like it's a spark plug ready to pop. If you have any suggestions to diagnose please advise or other suggestions as to possible cause I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.

I had the same noise (I think)
Turned out I had broken one of the guide posts that hold the timing chain in place.

These trucks are known for manifold leaks 2 out of the 3 I've owned leaked I'd bet that's what it is but without hearing it I can't be sure

Its the manifolds. I had to replace both of mine. They are not cheap either. I think I paid 350 a side

For the manifolds, was y'all clicking in a steady rhythm or sporadic? Mine isn't steady rhythm so I am thinking its timing chain guide broke and rattling

Mine go with the rpms slow at idle but speed up as my rpms climb but its constant

Is that price just for the manifold or labor too cause you can get sorties for cheaper I've even found long tubes for under that

My truck has the same clicking. Not very loud and annoying so I didn't fix it. It's just the manifold most likely. I just put a flow master on my truck and now you can't hear the clicking haha. Have someone in park give your truck some throttle and walk around it and see If it seems to be coming from the sides where the manifolds are or if it's coming through the grill where the timing chain is

I need both of mine done. Was quoted 1500 for the whole job. What did anybody else pay?

I can't hear mine unless I'm over like 2000-3000 rpm most prevalent speeding up to get on the interstate pulling a trailer and above 75 mph sometimes It kind of sounds like if you put a peice of paper in a box fan, like it comes and goes randomly not a steady rythm
And the only time I hear it when I am not pulling a trailer is if I floor it
