Default Just purchased the f150 ive been waiting for

Hey everyone. I joined back in 2011 for a question concerning my dads 94 f150. Anytime I purchase a vehicle I like to get involved on a forum specific to the vehicle I own. It helps me alot to look for things that may be potential problems. Ive been wanting a f150 super crew in a dark red (Toreador Red Metallic) is what I have.
Its been a long search. I either didnt have the funds, the truck was too expensive, too many miles, too much work to be done etc etc.

Well I finally found the one. A local truck beloning to a neigbor about 1/2 mile away. 2002 F150 Super Crew 2wd, 4.6, 75,000 orginal miles. Tan cloth interior. I was a little thrown off by the aftermarket 22 inch wheels. He didnt still have the factory set. Ive had it for a week now and I really like it.

Its alot better on gas than I thought it would be but im easy on the throttle.
Its been very well maintained and very clean.

I have a couple of issues to look into. Cruise control doesnt work. It does have the fuse block installed from the recall.
I pulled codes on it and it had the following.
gem/sjb memory codes
b1318 low battery voltage at module
b1315 battery saver relay coil short to battery +
p0500 vehicle speed sensor fault

I dont have any weird issues. So its not a big concern for me at the moment. I had the battery and alternator checked and they were fine.

I looked for the notorious windshield leak and theres no sign of water coming in the cab.

Ill be researching the forums to find out more about these codes.
See you around the forums!

Cruise control may be as simple as one of the brake lights not working. Check to make sure all lights are operational - including the third brake light.

Some don't like chrome, some do.
It's your truck. If it makes you happy - you have a winner.
Enjoy

Its just enough chrome for me. Anything more would be overboard for me.
The big wheels arent something I have ever been a fan of. I was looking to put stock back on it but then i seen one just like mine with stock 16s and I didnt like it.
I dont plan on pulling or hauling anything with it. I got an old truck for that.
Just a nice family vehicle. Something with plenty of room to pick up all the kids from school.
Im gonna check on that brake light issue. Ive read that on here already. Ive even tried the cruise control test where you press the buttons in sequence e but it doesnt flash anything once you get past pressing the ON button.

Thanks for the helpful info.

If you do decide to change your wheels the FX4 wheels look great on the super crews
