Default just bought a 03 f150 crew cab

2 weeks ago i just bought a 03 f150 crew cab with 5.4. Its in excellant shape. The guy told me he had new plugs, tie rods, exhaust from convertor back, serp belt, oil change, an new tires 265/70/17 which would be a 31.6 tall tire. I love the truck.i just took it for first 2hr one way trip an got between 19-20 mpg at 80mph.which im very happy with. Im looking to find a trifold bed cover 5.5ft used an wiper cowl cover for it. If anyone has these or knows someone that does please contact me, id like to buy them!!! Thanks for any advice or tips to where i might find them.

How the heck did you get that good of gas mileage? All down hill? I have the 2003 4.2l v6, and it prolly gets 15mpg tops. Heck, in rush hour traffic, I'm getting only 10mpg.

19-20mpg? In a 5.4l? At 80mpg?

You're not going to get more mpg than what the truck rolled off the showroom floor getting. Be realistic.

I filled back up when i got back an divided the gallons by milage. It was at back at fill mark but didnt click off like b4. U can always have another 5 -10 more bucks pushed in. So if i had did that it was prob more like 17-19. If u got to be down exactly to point by calculation.

I can get 18.2mpg at 65mph throughout the entire tank. 65-74 I get 16.8 - 17.01mph. This was over a 2,500 miles. I don't go over 75mph and my RPM's try to stay under 2,500. The mountains of WV the Northern Michigan kind of made that hard at some points.

5w20, stock wheels & tires, Camping loadout, 18 days of driving,

I have no reason to believe anything greater than my numbers can be normal unless your motors are so loose, they're about to give out.

Things to consider, Pumps are often wrong. Math does not lie too often but we do fool ourselves.
