BlackBullXLTs Road Warrior Project
Hey Everyone, I wanted to say Hi to the F150 Forum and share some pics of my truck, which is a 2000 5.4L V8 XLT. It's my first truck and I absolutely love it. I have been reading up on the forum and am very humbled by the amount of knowledge and know-how so I hope that you will be patient with my elementary questions and are willing to teach as I am eager to learn.
I've had the truck for a couple of years now and I've performed some maintenance on it from changing out the differential fluid (Royal Purple in case someone would like to know), installed a throttle body spacer with a PowerAid, oil/filter (RP as well), made some custom brackets for the Hella Fog lights I installed in an after market bumper that came when I bought the truck, changed out all other exterior lights to Spyders (the headlights & 3rd are junk, ask me why), installed the retractable Bully Rings, I installed a bull bar while taking a sawzall to the bumper, installed a matte black fuel door, I've experimented with painting the interior plastics with pretty satisfactory results from gray to black, that's an on-going project. I've also had a bunch of other things done to the F-150 such as Line-Xing the bed, roof and both bumpers, had a train horn installed, wing mirrors with turn signal flashers, grille insert and grill surround, etc. I'll try uploading before and after pics so you can see the direct difference between OEM and after market or custom. I look forward to conversing with you gents!!!
Here you can see the truck as I bought it. Bumper needed paint (before Line-X), before fogs, bull bar, LED Light bar, headlights, grille insert, grille surround, bumper insert, etc.
...and what it looks like currently.
Here you can see the buttons for the Train Horn air compressor & On/Off this way I can use the horn pad for the normal horn and use it for the train horn. Buttons also control the LED light bar, etc. Also the plastics are painted black.
If you look carefully you can see the compressor siting on top of a aluminum bracket along with tank and three horns all sitting in the spare tire space.
PowerAid
Changing our RearDiff Fluid
OEM Tails
and Spyder Tail LEDs
OEM Headlight, grille and grille surround.
Spyder Headlight, after market grille insert, grille surround & Line-Xed bumper.

and a couple more pics..
You can see here how I cut into the bumper in order to make the bull bar fit. I was apprehensive at first but the results were positive.
a pic so you can see the Line-X on the roof. Long story but the roof got done because someone scratched up my roof really badly. I love the result and I now have plans of installing an after market STEEL hood and I will be Line-Xing that as well. The benefits are that you don't have to worry about washing/waxing it, just taking a hose to it once in a while. It of course does add weight.
a pic of my lil pup.
