Default instruments peg out then go to zero

2000 my supercrew, instruments started acting up recently when I turn the key on they peg-out then go to zero then level out. what could be causing this? Anybody got any ideas?

probably a bad connection on the battery terminals. the instruments peg out after you reconnect the battery and turn the key the first time

Ya prolly the battery. Make sure your terminals are clean. If it persists make sure your battery is charged, and of course if it still persists you will prolly need a new battery. If it gets that bad it will obviously have trouble starting and stuff.

mine does that...but only sometimes...mostly after iv towed something...so cud b harness related....but its nevr been a big issue for me

low volts/dead battery. mine did that when I lost a cell in the battery. Put a volt meter on it and see, easiest thing to check first before you dig too deep
