Need Efan Wiring Help ASAP!!!
So my efan set up just melted my relay and holder! Its two Taurus fans and I am using mostly 12 gauge wire and a switch instead of a controller. I ran like 14-16 gauge from the switch to the relay and groud to the relay because I ran out of 12 gauge. Is that why it did that!?

Those fans pull 17 amps a piece on low range. On high they pull closer to 25-28 amps each. Really you need some other way to trigger them. I dont know which fan speed you are using. But if they both are on high, a normal switch will not handle the amperage. The relay melted because of to much current draw. Hopefully you have each fan on a seperate relay. If not your lucky nothing caught on fire.

Is there a way to actually switch them from high to low range? And what could I use though to control the speed of them if I cant switch the speeds?

The way I have always set mine up is have one set on high all the time using a temp sendor. Then use the other one on high when the a/c is turned on. When I start my electric fan setup I'll be using a DCC control. It will control both high and low speeds based off engine temp.

hey man. i just installed the same fans in my 02. (got mine out of a windstar with the 3.8) i have had no problems with mine. just buy a heavy duty fan controller from Derale. i have one fan set up to that controller and the other one will probably be put on its own controller soon too. right now its wired to a switch so i can turn it on when i turn the A/C on.
i have a HOW-TO on it on another forum if you would like the link.

I bought my controler off ebay for 109 bucks shipped to the door, funny thing was when I received it there were summit stickers and a small catalog in the box. started receiving summit catologs shortly after.

Well I decided to just unhook one fan and just run a single one for now. Have it just wired to the switch and a relay. Do you think I will be ok with just the one fan? I havent had any overheating yet.
