Default Indy shop referral in West Los Angeles/SaMo/SF Valley?

Hi,

I have a 2001 F150 Supercrew 4x4 which needs its rear diff overhauled. Obviously the dealer wants a couple grand for that and I'm reluctant to go that route as the whole truck is probably worth ~$7500 on a good day. However I need this truck to be bulletproof for a couple more years and do not want to cut corners.

Any recommendations for GOOD independent shops in the West LA out to San Fernando Valley areas?

Thanks!

this IS NOT the place to post this. Go on a local forum. Not here. Hope this gets moved to the Off topic section

Gee, thanks for the non-helpful reply. I did post to the Southwest Region forum as well. The regional forums here and on most other boards get very little traffic, whereas the main forums get lots.

Go look on Google then look at the reviews people have left at those shops.

Thank you! I have found one good contender that way, although I always prefer specific personal referrals where available instead of Google/Yahoo/Yelp.

Hi, no regearing just a stock overhaul (bearings, seals, etc.) It does have the limited-slip option.

Hmmm have you given any though to looking into a low mileage rear end assembly to swap in?

I just picked one up for $550 and had it installed for $200.

Car-part.com is the best way to find what is close to you, mileage, and price.
