Default Improving Aerodynamics

I am looking to improve on the aerodynamics on my 1997 F150 2WD 4.2L Regular Cab.

Thinking of fabricating something out of rubber-maid totes using small steel beams to reinforce the strength..

Anyone else modified their aerodynamics themselves? I am not referring to buying a kit. Something home-made. And pics would be great!

That constitutes a ban!

Unless you're some sort of engineer, you're probably going to make it worse. I can't imagine how steel reinforced storage totes are going to streamline your rig. If you're that worried about gas mileage, get rid of your truck and buy a moped.

Only suggestion I would have is to lower it.

Otherwise, I really highly doubt you will be able to fabricate something that will work without making it butt ugly. Not that I am doubting your fabrication skills but consider an entire team of Ford engineers takes several YEARS to develope a new model, and they take EVERYTHING into consideration.

and it's a TRUCK, they aren't designed or built to be aerodynamic....
