Default ignition coils bad?

I think my coil may be heading south but i have no check engine light. most people i talk to say it will trip a light...i have ruled out most everything alse and really think its a coil but have no check engine light and no codes at all. could it still be a coil? this is for a 03 SCrew 5.4 auto

it is missing...usally when driving along at lower rpm it will start spuddering as you lay into the throtle as soon as it drops down a gear the spuddering goes away. also sometimes it feels like the engine is surging when climbing hills.
