How was the 5.4 ran for everyone? good or bad engine?

Its only as good as the maintenace, people that take care of them are getting over 300,000 miles out of them.

they've had some problems but as long as you take care of them they'll take care of you

Mine has 180,000+ and runs great, uses no oil, doesn't smoke and can still light the tires up.

thats how my 99 is with 173,000 and my dad 02 with a 165,000

my 2000 5.4l is now at 248.000 km and runs like new, never given me a problem, just do your regular maintenence and it takes care of you, it dont burn oil or leak etc, couldnt be happier , even more so since lately i have been plowing long hours almost daily, now i'll be adding a 2nd truck into the lineup by mid feb and that will also be a 5.4.
