I agree it may be the coil.
I just ran SeaFoam (NAPA) through my 97 (no coils on plug) 291,000 Kilometers
I also ran 6 oz/tank of a home made concoction _ 2 parts acetone, 1 part xylene, 1 part Synthetic two-stroke motor oil. (top end lubrication)
My truck has never ran smoother and it eliminated my miss-fire/stumble. It is now very quiet, smooth, and responsive to the slightest tap on the gas peddle. (Before it was not responsive and when I let off the gas peddle the rpm dropped instantly. Now it instantly revs up and slowly back down.) It's worth a try.....
P.S Just pull the plug. ground, and test it for spark.
Good luck
