Default Low Radio Volume

I am having a radio volume problem that seems to be related to the ignition switch: With the ignition on or in acc. the radio has very little volume but when i switch the ignition off the volume spikes for a second, I have tried engaging the switch slowly to see if I can "catch" the spot where I have Volume but all I get is that one quick spike of volume and then it goes right back to almost no volume. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Stock radio? Aftermarket radio?? Info would be nice.

Sounds like the internal amplifier is going bad on the radio. Time for a replacement,

Thank you jchubb01 It is the original radio, I just thought it was odd how I could only get volume as the ignition key was turning.

What does it do when the truck is running? Does it get louder?
