Default High mile trucks

Hi, I`m new here, just got my `00 F150 4.6 4x4. It has 155,xxx miles, good body, but rust underneath. It runs like a clock & everything works like its supposed to. This is the only vehicle I`ve ever had with this kind of miles on it. I was just wondering how many other folks have similar mileage on their trucks with the truck still running well.

My 03 has 177k right now. Good to hear these trucks can hold up a lot longer.

My 4.6 03 extra cab went off to the wrecker at 360k, original engine and tranny. Engine was running strong and truck was in good albeit used shape. Insurance totaled it for a fender and a tie rod.

Got it next to new at 36k. Blew a spark plug around 250k, otherwise regular maintenance goes a long way. Stay on top of your fluids and take your truck to a trustworthy shop for plugs or do them yourself to spec.

There was a guy on one of these forums that squeezed 1,000,000 out of one of these generation trucks driving cross country for work, but he did swap the motor.

Take good car of it and it'll return the favor.
