High lift jack

I have had a Jeep for the past decade. Just came back to the world of F150s (just got my truck less than a week ago.). Loved my high-lift with the jeep. It was one of the best things I bought when I got my jeep. Changed tires, oil, brakes (with a jack stand). It was pretty much the only jack I needed. Used it to pull out trees, fence posts and once for a giant clamp when working on some stairs. Even used the handle for a braker bar. I didn't think i would be able to use it on the F150. Glad to know it will still get used. Until i read this forum, I couldn't figure out how i could lift the truck with it. I never thought about the tow hooks. just need to figure out where to mount it now.
Good thread.

Hilifts are awesome. I use them in the driveway all the time. But I'm super super careful when I do, because the one time I wasn't, this happened:
The base wasn't on stable ground, and kicked out away from the truck. Jacked up the fender, and nearly busted the hell out of my foot.
I still carry a hilift, but I do most of my offpavement lifting with a Bushranger exhaust jack now. Much less effort, much safer. Love that thing.
I'd be careful lifting by the tow hitch - the ebrake doesn't work on the front wheels, so chock them really really well or the truck will pivot on the jack and fall. If somebody or something were in the wrong place when that happened it could be ugly.
