High idle speed after carbon clean
03' F150, 4.6/auto, 167K
I recently removed the throttle body and cleaned the carbon from the two ports leading to the egr valve and sprayed TB cleaner into all of the other ports on the tb, now my engine starts idling at about 1800 before dropping to the usual 750 when it is cold and starts at 1200 when it is warm. I did not replace any parts just cleaned all of them, does anybody have any ideal what is causing this?

I know of one '93 F150 4x4 w/5.0 that did the same thing under the same conditions. Your truck is much newer but may suffer from the same thing. Had to replace the Throttle Position Sensor because somehow the owner tried cleaning it without removing the TPS. The TPS (old unit) had carb/injector cleaner inside it. Yes we cracked it open to verify. Voltage signals were basically gone.
