Good idea until you need it to back uphook to the trailer lol

Yeah, but if you can't hook up a trailer without a backup camera, you probably shouldn't be towing anything, anyway.

True but if I had a backup camera I'd want to using it for hooking up trailers

Warhammer, you read my mind. The exact same idea popped into my head as soon as XC racer mentioned a hitch. But like you said it would be pretty low. Solution: bigger lift kit!

Edit: Someone already did it. A quick web search yielded this: http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_...stik_PHITCH-5B. Unfortunately, it looks like they don't make them any more.

The downside to that is for some people (like myself ) I like to leave my ball mount and ball in place with a lock of course, that way if some dumba## rear ends me they get a mouth full of ball and bar before they connect with my bumper. ;-)

LOL! I got rear-ended by a lady in a Honda Pilot. She hit right on my hitch... REALLY screwed up her front bumper!

I have used several of the Tailgate emblem camera from ford. If you choose to swap to a 08+ SD tailgate you'll be hit in the wallet for atleast $500 to have it all completed

I like my superduty gate. There is a design flaw in the camera's that were designed for the handles. I had one. I went thru 3 camera until the guy at Ford told me about it. They like to hold moisture between the exterior lense and the internal camera. Eventually making them cloudy and unusable. After the last one clouded up I switch to the newer style with the camera in the emblem. I have a superduty tailgate tho.
