Issue: Theft light keeps blinking and car won’t start

The root causes could be an electrical malfunction, loose connection within steering column/ignition, or broken PATS model.

Repair advice:
1.Blakers suggested disconnecting the battery then let it sit for a few minutes. Then reconnect the battery and see if that works
2.Several users had success with whacking the steeping column with a hard object, which may restore a loose connection within the steering column. This is likely not a permanent fix to the problem.
3.Take the car to the dealer. It could be a more complicated diagnosis and repair.

I have a 03 f150 ford truck and the anti theft light is blinking so the truck won't start, I tried disconnecting the battery and letting it sit for about 15 minutes and it didn't work. I then did a little trouble shooting and found that a fuse relay was missing from my fuse panel in the cab of the truck which controls my cigarette lighter and the data link connector would this cause the anti theft to become active varied.

Dontcha just love it when an OP high tails it outta town, never to be seen again, and there's no resolution to their issue?

Almost as bad as bringing up old, dead threads by posting something new, like this.

Jerks.

Mine used to do this, what I did was unpluged the battery for a couple minutes then plug back on and then every time I put the key in the ignition, I take off any keys and key chains, just have the key in the ignition and that worked for me haven't had that problem for a year so far.

But thankfully, it turned out much easier and cheaper...it was a 10a fuse in the fuse box under the hood...#26, PCM-keep alive power, etc... New fuse, good to go. Worth a check before going down more costly roads....

(Still not sure if I hit something that caused this fuse to blow, or it was just coincidental and the fuse was at its end...).
My husband just now had the same problem. Your a godsend, he was gonna take my car. Thank you so much...
