My old '02 developed a slight shudder while turning as you describe. I changed the rear diff fluid and all was well.

Yes, change the fluid and make sure to use the right amount of friction modifier. That should end the chatter.

Default Blast from the Past

Well here is a two year update. Yes did donuts in now girlfriends field 141K on truck now. About to freshen up some of the front suspension. Waterpump is weeping and only two years old.

About to replace driveshaft center support on GF's F350. Problem is it looks like there might be a few different ones to order and local places don't seem to carry these? I have a post over in Super Duty if anyone can help lead me to where I can get accurate information. My plan is to take it out after work tonight or this week and measure all the important dimensions and take a stab at ordering the correct one.

Four year update........... 165K. I guess all that work was worth it. My boys just got back to Maryland after taking it to Vermont on a snowboarding trip. Girlfriend with the farm broke up with me a month ago.

Appears I have the GEM problem? With key out you can still run blower fan and chime rings like there is a key in when you open door.

Yep, sounds like a GEM issue. Easy enough to fix.

Can you point me at a thread? Do they need programed or is it as easy as getting the same part number?

Thanks I just wanted to learn ahead of time. I did some reading on it and drove around with the heat on hi for two days and it dried out and works normal again. I never did see any water in the truck. I'll search for windshield leak area and look into getting that fixed. Thanks again.
