Question Headlights and dashlights pulsating????

Thanks for having me,I have had this 1997 F150 4x4 for just 3 days. It has a 5.4 engine and runs great, the very first night after starting up,I
could not believe my eyes the headlights and dashlights were pulsating.
After running for about 10 miles IT STOPPED pulsating and was normal, I
replaced the alternator thinking it was going bad,Damn if it did not do the
same thing the very next day,I would appreciate any Ideas on what my
problem may be coming from,I have had 2 other F150's and never seen
this before.Thanks

Do your lights pulsate much like a motorcycle as it idles? Even though you've replaced the alternator it could not be making enough amps.. have you had it tested or pulled the battery cable while idling? If the amperage tests out okay you may have a loose ground.. but if it still acts the same.. stopping after running for 10 minutes or so its def a alternator issue.. let us know what you find.

check your grounds... but I have the SAME exact problem on one of my hondas right now, only its idling high as hellwater too. In my car, it's because the wiring harness is rubbed thru on the frame and is shorting out. A pretty big deal with my generation honda. Honda has a service bulletin out for it in fact.

Not to throw this thread off topic, but what generation Honda do you have? I own a 7th generation Accord and haven't heard of this...just making sure I'm not in danger of screwing up wires!

Ok, resume original topic!

EK6's.. 1996-2000. The harness rubs against the frame and starts shorting out, causing absolute craziness. **** pisses me off. I think your safe with the accord though.

Sorry to hear that. That's not like Honda for the most part. Thanks for responding back.
