Headlight switch and surrounding bezel.
How do you get it out? 97 F-150 XLT. I pulled off the moulding around the steering column and took out the 7mm bolts. It's like there's something behind the headlight switch still holding on. Don't want to break it. I'm trying to replace the bulbs in the cluster.

Turn the headlight switch to the ON position, using a small screwdriver carefully pry the **** off, turn the **** 180 degrees (upside down) and reinstall it, turn the headlight switch to the OFF position, turn the switch clockwise a far as it will go and hold. This will disengage the cam on the back of the switch assembly and allow you to pull the assembly out of the dash. Disconnect the electrical connector on the back of the assembly and remove it. There is a 7mm screw behind the switch. That should be the last screw, but if you get stuck let me know. I referenced my Haynes manual for this info, but if I can add my two cents then replace all the bulbs at once because it is a real pain to swap them and they are cheaper than your time.

the previous owner of my truck pulled the face plate off the headlight switch so now it just pops on and off. i just pop it off now and squeeze the bar inside it to pull the entire thing off
