harley davidson misfire
i got a 2002 harley davidson supercrew. it was misfiring and having trouble when i tried to accelerate, it kinda shakes and then finally takes off. but it only does it when im already rolling or if i try to take off fast. the computer read a problem with the ingnition coil number 1. so i changed the coil and all the sparkplugs but its still misfiring alot.. and the computer still reads that theres a problem with coil number 1.. another thing, the truck has an air leak on one of the headers..could that be the problem and not the coil???

After changing it, and no difference, I learned the #1 was on the passenger's side.
I would also be looking into the connector plug that goes into the coil, and the wire leading to it. May be a short or bad wire that's not firing the coil.

yeah the number 1 is on the passengers side, i just fixed the header leak and that didn't fix it. apparentely the mechanic said it could be the fuel injector so he's going to look into it tomorrow..hopefully it gets fixed..i'll let you all know how it goes.

Yep, most people just replace one coil, when it is best to replace them ALL at the same time. Ford is known for their crappy coils lol.
