If you turn it on high and can't smell it in the defrost its more than likely just a hose leak. Green is the way to go in these trucks. You shouldn't need more than a 2 gallons no matter what. If you do need more than that you may have a serious leak somewhere.

Filled overflow tank w/ Prestone 50/50. Turned defrost on high heat=no smell or fog. Also turned on A/C. Heat is hot and A/C cold, but a few minutes in I noticed this leak on the passenger side front

I promise no matter what hose or problem that is that it is going to be a hell of a lot easier to fix than a bad heater core.

Thanks. I've been looking up Heater Core replacement write-ups and youtubes and it looks like a beast. Removing the whole dash..... wowzers. Any advice on finding the leak or at least where to start. I've got a short automotive resume

Yeh... I did mine last Fall on the black truck and that took two days just to make sure I didnt mess it up.

It looks like a pretty serious leak so it shouldn't be terribly hard to find. I would start looking at the top radiator hose on that side and move to the two heater core hoses that come from the fire wall. They are also on that side.

Got under it with a mirror tool. Looks like its coming from the passenger side of the radiator, behind/under where the drain plug is, from the plastic. Looked up the part but not sure the difference in 1 row or 2 row. Pretty confident I can change it myself, just not sure if I need 1 or 2 core

I wish I knew what to tell you there bud but I have never had to find another radiator. Any real mechanic should be able to tell you.
