Glasspack review

Glasspack review
Let me start off by explaining my pre glasspack setup. My truck has the 5.4 btw. I had true dual 2.5 pipe with a boss custom x pipe and a rear cat delete and no mufflers. All this was done at a mustang performance garage in Hampton, TN. Awesome quality by the way. Even though it was practically straight pipe it sounded like no other straight because of the x pipe. However it did have the annoying rap of a straight pipe. Needless to say it was stupid loud. I had my exhaust that way for about 3 months until just last week when I had two 14 inch glasspacks put on it. I went to a local shop and said I want something to tame the exhaust and get the pop and rap cancelled out but for cheap. They installed and provided the glasspacks for $50. (It does help to be family friends with the owner) I am pleased with the results and for how cheap it was. Makes the exhaust a lot smoother sounding and deeper. I was pleasantly surprised. The only negative thing I have to say is that it created the holy mother of drone in my cab. But I can't complain too much as the drone is only present around 60 which I don't hit very often because most of my driving is city driving. This setup is only temporary as I am going to put either magnapacks or super 44s in a few months. I just wanted something quick and easy until then and to make me more adjusted to a quieter exhaust. I would recommend glasspacks to anyone wanting a super cheap muffler and a decent sound.

I've considered the Pro Xs but I'm afraid it wouldn't be loud enough for my liking since I still have 2 cats and stock manifolds. I like an exhaust to be both loud and have a good sound. If I'm not mistaken the Pro Xs comes in several sizes correct?

That's good to know man. My objective is to create the deepest exhaust sound I can get and still maintain a very aggressive volume level.
