Default Theft light code 16

Hello I have an 03 f150 xlt super crew I have recently started to drive and the auto theft light has came on and it’s giving me the auto theft code 16 I have replaced the relays and fuses that could cause the problem same with trying the key in the door and ignition the light won’t go out and I’ve tried to use an OBD reader wich won’t read the truck code but has before. Truck will not start with the theft light just cranks anyone know how to get rid of the theft light code 16 with out going to a shop?

Does the mileage show up on your cluster when this happens?

My guess is you've got something wrong with the cluster. A lot of guys have had success with re-flowing the solder joints for the odometer. My 97 doesn't have PATS or a digital odometer, but I've had experience with Explorer/Ranger electronics that re-flowing the solder solved all.

Yeah, you should have. If the PCM and the cluster do not power up together, PATS will always fail.

Usually, if the odometer reads all dashes, it's the PCM that didn't power up. Most common is a bad PCM Power Relay but it could be something else in the PCM's power or ground circuits or it *might* be the PCM itself (very rare).
