Gabriel 6861SE Steering Damper - not fitting
Has anyone fitted one of these? I have a 2001 4x4 and am trying to install the 6861SE Steering damper.

The problem I am having is that the bracket that bolts to the front crossmember that the top of the damper bolts to, holds the damper out too far, so that the shock is not parallel to the crossmember, and will not fit.
I have double checked and I have the correct part number.
Has anyone else run across this?
