Question fuse continues to blow

I have a 2000 f150. The fuse that controls the turn signals, brake lights and hazards has blown. I've replaced it twice and as soon as I put it in, it blows out again. I've been told that all I need to do is replace the relay for it, but I have no idea what that means. Please, can anyone out there help?

There should be a relay in the fuse box for it, look at your manual. BTW, you're in the wrong section, but welcome anyways:p

Is the truck wired for trailer lights?

Also, you may get better results if this were in the other forum for your year; someone there may have the factory schematics and can provide trace points for you.

Here is something to check. Look at the sensor on front of your master cylinder. There should be two wires going into a sensor there. Look around the sensor and see if there is any brake fluid around it. It should be completely dry. If it s not then there s your problem. It will blow the fuse every time you press the brake peddle. There was a recall regarding this issue. I'm not sure which models, but I had a similar situation on an Expedition.

When looking for a short I usually just start unplugging each component in the circuit-one at a time until the fuse no longer blows. This is to isolate the short.I'd do this first-then update this post for further troubleshooting.

pull all the lights out... and look for green oxidization.

you may need to cut out pigtails and solder new ons in.

next, like the guy above me said... remove one until you no longer blow a fuse if this helps.

Seriously check the brake sensor on the master cylinder before you go pulling wires etc.
