Theft Light Problems And more... :\
I just recently noticed my theft light has come on and wont turn off. when i start the engine, i hear a buzz in the passenger side dash, once the engine has started the buzz goes away.
i disconnected the battery (to reset the theft light) and when reconnected, the horn comes on :/ ????
...and my key remote wont unlock/lock/Panic the truck (autozone remote tester shows the remote working)...
i am puzzled with this... just installed a new cd player but the problems came about before the installation.
Any Ideas?

Passive Anti Theft System, it uses a chip in your key to keep idiots from just punching the ignition cylinder out. Usually, if there is something wrong with that system, thats why the theft light blinks... On mine, it blinks really fast for about 2 minutes, the it blinks once, then it blinks again 6 times in a row... i think that means something.... not sure just yet though.
Here are my threads, maybe they will shed some light on the subject for you...

The second thread is the older of the two, start there, and especially pay attention to what Austin97 says, the guy has been the BIGGEST help with this so far. Unfortunately bud, its not something that you or i can fix, unless you had the intricate knowledge of how the system works, or the computer and tools to work on it... Dealership only sad to say.... just make sure to do your homework on the dealer before you take it, pay attention to customer reviews and what not, otherwise you'll end up like me, 1000 dollars in the hole and the issue still isnt fixed....

Thanks for the clarification and the warning! ;D what might help me is that i have a friend that works at a ford dealership and treats our family like royals and charges like peasants (not much)
