Default Fuel pump change with bed removal....

My fuel pump has been missing on start up lately. So I have decided to change it.
I have removed the bed.... 2000 F150 4X4 cab and a half....
And yes... removing the bed is easier if you have 3 people....but if you could use a hoist or a tree limb/ overhead...ect.....

I removed my bed with 3 old folks..... 2 of them women... so don't go wimp on me !!!!

I've removed the bed before and I've dropped my tank before, I'll stick with dropping it lol

Not sure which is more of a pain. It is easier for sure to get to the fuel pump from the top, but taking the bed off can be a pain for some.
Too bad it is not an option for the Super Crew. You have to drop the tank since the fuel pump is under the cab.

I did the bed on my Ranger, and it only took about a 1/2 hour to get it removed. The old F150 though.... someone thought it would be a good idea to fill the torx heads in with bedliner spray. So, when the time comes, I guess I'll be quicker dropping the tank.

Just did mine, I went back and forth about taking off bed vs dropping tank. Ended up dropping tank since I was by myself. Took 1 1/2 hours start to finish, which I didn't think was too bad.
With my luck the last bed bolt would strip out. lol

It is not necessary to completely remove the bed. I just unbolt, remove filler neck screws, unplug wire harness, remove tail gate to reduce weight then one man and a boy can lift and slide the box far enough back on the frame to access the pump and fittings.
