Here is what will actually work in city driving. E-fans, Underdrives, headers, programmer, Gotts mod with a quality dry performance air filter, such as AEM or AFE progard.

Ummm a pick up cover does nothing. The truck was designed so it wldnt..... it was even on myth busters. The stock exhaust and air intake is good. If u want sound cut off the muffler and pipe out, it sounds great. For performance ull notice a change with a tuner especially in shifting. Other than that ull have to sink some money into it..

Did my e-fan about a month ago and on average probably picked up 1 mpg or a little more. I'm using a single 19" 2 speed fan. Programmer is next on the list, then under drive pulleys.

I think I picked up around 2mpgs with my efan swap. That's the best mod I've done for fuel economy.

Fuel consumption instrumentation (if you use it to learn good driving habits) will do more than anything. I have an ultraguage but I've heard scanguage 2 is good also. I boosted my mpg from 12 to 17 city and 14 to 16 hyw. I can get 21 on the hyw if I try and I'm not in a hurry

That 21 is before the headers and exhaust. I can only get 17 now cause I don't have any o2 sensors so its running fixed fuel tables
