Default Battery life: Is this a record?

I picked up my brand new '97 F150 in April of 1996. I've replaced brake rotors twice, had the dash ripped out to change the heater core, etc etc.

However, my ORIGINAL Motorcraft battery is still hanging in there, nearly 14 years later.

Anybody beat that?

I'd say that you have a battery that was made in Heaven...count your blessings.

My oem went for 7 years, and I thought that was amazing. Yes, you may have the record.

i had an 78 buick regal with original battery...and it was good intill 2000..i kept it in the car till 2005 ...( was just weak if you left it sitting for like a day or so)...in 2005 some teenage kids tried to steel the car and end up burning it in my yard...:'(

That's funny because my 97 f150 that recently this summer got a rebuild dropped into it also has the original battery from when it was purchased back in 97. Battery is still running strong!
