sputtering/ popping
im at a lost for ideas.
I have a 2002 F150 5.4, after my last fill up i was heading home going about 70 on highway and i felt some sputtering. but no error codes thrown. i got off the highway and it started doing it more often with and at random speeds. it would sputter then go away. poored a bottle of seafoam into the tank and next day no sputtering. now its back, doesnt happen in neutral or park. once i put it in drive or reverse it has a rough idle and puts along. still no error code.
4 coils, all spark plugs and MAF were replaced about this time last year after driving threw water. gas filter replaced every spring.

Its possible you have a bad cop without throwing a code. The easy way to tell is to take it to a ford dealership and have them do a diagnostic for $89.00. They will tell you what cop is bad. I had the same problem and they swapped out the number three and problem solved.
