When the oil gauge dips, I can def feel the difference in how it runs. At stop lights and stop signs, I have to put it in neutral.

Do you have a Motorcraft oil filter on it, I heard that can make a difference too.

I had misfire codes and replaced everything, engine threw no codes for a little while then threw misfire codes as well as a egr code. I replaced the egr valve pressure sensor 2 months ago and the truck is running great with no codes.

I don't think it the plugs. I would check the injectors.

No, I don't think it's the plugs either. I've heard it could be injectors but wouldn't they not work period instead of after the truck warms up? Anyone ever have problems with cam or crankshaft sensors? I heard it could be those. The Haynes manual says the if the crankshaft sensor goes bad, it can throw misfire codes. Anyone ever hear of this?

You have to clear codes manually. they don't just disappear if you fix the problem. Disconnect your battery for 1/2 hour or so and come back and try again.

Correct. Either that, or have a part store clear the code.

Based upon all you have done, it sounds like you have bad injectors. I would try a bottle of injector cleaner first (also change the fuel filter after you have run through the tank of gas). Also make sure your plug sockets are clean of grease, dirt, and coolant. I have seen leaking coolant or oil leaking from the valve covers that cause the misfires. Also, the dirty plug sockets prevent the plugs from seating properly thus causing your misfire.

by the way, you should do a compression check on all cylinders. The compression in all cylinders should be within a range of about 10 PSI with no cylinder below 130

good luck.

So I cleared the codes, drove it and it came back just a MAF sensor. It does drive a little better but still sluggish in 4th and the oil gauge drops way down and oil light comes on after it heats up but only when in gear. Have you ever heard of this? (The MAF looks very brand new btw). I will run it for a couple days to see if anything comes back. I appreciate the help! I will also have the injectors checked just in case. Lucas cleaner in a quarter to half a tank of gas?

When your oil light come on does your engine make any odd noises? If not probably just your oil pressure sensor.
My oil light would come on but not make any noises so I changed the sensor and fixed it.
