Default Shock bracket on lower control arm broke!!

So i replaced the upper control arm along with ball joint and lower ball joint all moog products and replaced the shocks with pro comp es9000's. Drove maybe 30 miles and heard alot of clacking- pulled the tire of today to make sure everything was tight and noticed the bracket where the shock is held on to the lower passenger control arm broke. Has anyone ever heard of this? When i went to take the old shocks off the lower bolt on both sides was rusted to hell and one snapped and the other i had to 2 cut off once i backed the nut off the bolt enough. For the heck of it i checked the driver side to make sure that side was good and noticed a hairline crack!! Anyone have any advice? Is this due to old lower control arms that have seen the end of there days or is it just bad luck?

You can weld them back on or buy newer lower arms...that's you only two options.
