If you don't have a safe place to race, just do a tug-o-war with your trucks. I promise you'll win that one.

Ford single cab 4x4 with 5.4 and 285's got beat by one truck length by Chevy 2wd with the 5.3. I got the jump but that truck had a lot less weight and drag.

You guys are funny, there are a ton of factors to consider.
It could go either way depending on the gear ratio and tire size of the trucks.

In all honesty, when would being quicker ever matter outside of the drag strip? Bragging rights? These trucks are not built for racing.

Now if you had a SVT...it would be a different story.

Heads down it'll be the chevy. Before my friend left for basic he raced this spoiled kid in a daddys money cummins. His 99 z71 5.3 with 205, 000 miles beat an 02 cummins that launched in 4wd with an edge, water/ methanol, turboback, built trans. He beat him by a full second in the eigth

Ive raced against a couple at the track, it was only an 1/8th mile but usually stock for stock mine usually came out ahead. then I lifted mine, big tires, gears tuner, intake exhaust bumper, roof rack, the chevy will now be maybe a bumper ahead.

When we were both stock i couldnt beat him but my 4.6 would be neck and neck with his 5.3. He had more miles and 3.42 gears while i have 3.55, but who knows man its hard to keep things constasnt in a situation like that. They are both great motors/trucks. I like ford but i wont dog chevy bc they are pretty damn close nowadays.

It has been my experience that chevys are faster but ford will kill them in towing. Just saying. And i use my truck for towing not racing. It is a truck after all not a racecar

Exactly! A stock 2v 5.4 makes 260hp and 350 ft lbs tq at 2500 rpm. The 5.3 285 hp and 335 tq at 4000rpm. Now tell me which one is a truck motor and which is car motor

My father's Silverado 5.3 is quicker than my 5.4, but his is also a regular cab, so it's a lot lighter.
