Floor jack shopping
If this is not the right forum, please move/delete/whatever is necessary.
I got tired of using multiple aluminum hydraulic jacks (1.5 tons) and scissors jacks. I would like to buy a bigger floor jack. My choice is Strongway 3 1/2 ton, $130 @Northern Tools, 3.8" to 21" Any other recommendations?

I have two harbor freght jacks
Have worked flawless for 20 yrs+
Run about 85 today for steel models in 3 ton
Ive never needed a low profile for trucks .
Dont worry about aluminum unless you use everyday, but you can get al for 185. Dragging heavy jack around is bit of pain. Especially on driveway with broom finish. Theres always extension cord or air hose in way for light and impact wrench , and got to get it over that. It weighs 70lb.
Its a jack. Even the chinese make a decent one. Chances are they are all made there anyway.

Depends on how cool the manager is. I just bought an Earthquake XT impact that was not supposed to be used with the coupon. But the manager overrode the system and let me use it anyway.
My HF jack is the older Central Pneumatics version, and it has been absolutely awesome. I have the 3 ton low profile jack too because of my Mustang. I even used it to pull a big piece of concrete out of the ground from a broken fence post, lol.

I've used a couple HF jacks for quite awhile. The older FJ in the pick I've had for almost 20 years. It worked well up to about 2 years ago, -then it quit working. I found that one on the shoulder of the road close to home. It's a 2.5T.
The FJ closest in the pick I purchased, maybe 7 or 8 years ago from HF. That's a 3T and was HF's Heavy Duty $89 FJ back then. HEAVY but exceptionally sturdy when maxed out. When working on the brakes or whatnot, I stick a 6X6 block on that jack and raise the front end close to 2' high...always. Then set my HF 6T jackstands. HF's Jackstands are second to none as well.
Harbor Freight has some really great products for the price. They also sell a lot of junk. As far as Tool Boxes, FJ's and JS's you can't beat them.

I thought about getting a fast pump/low profile at one time. I'm not sure they could beat the sturdiness of the HD line. My older FJ that broke, I haven't even looked at it to see what happened to it. Might be something simple or it might be toast...not sure, it quit working all together. Not an oil issue, something snapped. But yea, it's given plenty of service over the last 20 years plus. Generally I use just one FJ, having two came in handy at times. I purchased the 3T while working on a family members decked out handy cap van. The old 2.5T wouldn't lift that thing lol. In fact, the front cast wheels broke trying to do so. The floor Jack still rolled fine with broken wheels, still usable with pieces of the wheels missing. The 3T wheels are twice and wide and twice as thick.. lifted that Van no problem...easily in comparison to the 2.5T.
