Fishing Rod Holder

A problem I see with the way it's done in the article is the rods popping out of the styrofoam. So a way I'm gonna counteract that is to drill a hole in the top and bottom corner of the holders, in front of where the rods sit. Then fasten a 1"X1/4" piece of aluminum to those holes with some bolts. Then all I have to do is remove the top bolt, swing the aluminum down, load the rods and refasten the aluminum.

I actually didn't know that's what they were. The Berkley's that my local wal-fart carried were standard foam slots on both ends. No rotated lock rings. Oh well. Make due with what I got.

I don't have a boat unfortunately. I'd like to though. Ice fishing interests me but there's no local places for me or anywhere close enough where there's sufficient ice to be on for long periods of time. I walk the banks, fish the piers, and wade in the rivers.

I used to walk the rivers around here... too many ticks though... last time I went (years ago) the next morning I found ticks all over my seats from hopping back in the truck after...
