He's right @Wolvee ,-
I'm currently restoring one, gutted the inside last night (carpet/kick panels) and yup, -both sides right below the kick panels there's a notch in the cab, both sides are rusted solid. Not sure how bad it is yet, -how deep it goes, but it did rust from the inside out.

I'll take a couple pics, since it's right here next to me lol.

That's a first, photo's wern't kept in format... Well, you'll have to tilt your head sideways for the full affect. Nasty ehh.

. It can still be called a coil pack? You either have 8 coil packs or 2 coil packs. 8 ignition coils or 2 ignition coils. 8 spark plug wires or 8 rubber boots and springs. I'm
Just saying I know when I walk in the parts store I don't walk up and say I need a coiloverplug for a 2002 f150 with a 5.4.... Haha...I call it a ignition coil my self.

It's not a coil pack, - two different ignition systems that require different software (coil drivers).

If you walk into a parts store asking for coil packs, they just figure you don't know a damn thing about these engines, and/or look up your model year to decipher exactly what it is your trying to say...hopefully

If you ask for coils or a coil, then you got it right. I never say cops, because that's just the system, I'd just say I need a coil. If the parts guy says coil pack? Just work the the computer for him since he has a hearing disbility lol.

Just call it what it what it is.

Keep in mind, -Pack's drive more than one cylinder, - a pack of cylinders usually 4 - 6 in the fords. Cop systems have 1 dedicated coil per cylinder, and no plug wires.

I know what it is lol as I said I call it an ignition coil.... I'm just saying you can still call it a coil pack.... 98% of people will still know what your talking about. The other 2% like you will be ****** and point out this.... As long as you are calling it a coil your right.... Weather ignition be in front of the coil or pack be after coil.... It doesn't matter. The guy knew he had 8 coil packs/ignition coils/cops...Why was there a need to correct him as he wasn't asking a question.. He was only saying he replaced 8 of them and obviously you knew what he was talking about cause you corrected him. Sure you educated him the difference in a coil pack and ignition coil.... But I'm sure he wouldn't bring a coil pack home and try to put it on his truck either now would he lol!!! Rant over!!!

I payed 5k for my truck, 1997 F-150 XLT (not leather seats) 4x4 automatic with 160k miles. If I would have seen that truck, I would have bought the that truck lol, think that is a REALLY good price for the truck. It sounds like everything is good, but how are the tires?

EDIT: Check to see if they coated the underside of the truck. They did that to mine, I figures it was to cover up hidden rust, so I unscrewed about 5-6 bolts, no indications of rust. So if the underside is painted, be leery ad unscrew some bolts.

I take no offense to anything. Just was saying it was dumb to correct him when he really wasn't incorrect..... We all got the point.. Overkill?? Maybe but I don't care.. Just hate when a person try's to be a ( know it all) we all get to throw our opinions around on here and that's mine.... Don't correct someone that technically isn't wrong just because you wanna look like a genius? Lol

He was incorrect. Without correction, how are we suppose to learn properly ? Technically more so ??

I don't think it's for one to look like a genius . It's for enjoyment and satisfaction you get helping others with what has been learned in the past. Granted, with a little fun thrown in here and there.
You have an immature way of looking at things. You'll grow out it, hopefully. That's could prevent you from learning in the future. You may need to be held back.

haha yeah seeing I'm out of school and all. And no he was not incorrect? He was right enough you knew what he meant. I know what they are but still call them a coil pack.... Like I call the ignition coil on a distributor motor a coil pack..... It's just a term you us to label the part your looking for. If you say coil pack for 2002 5.4 f150 your gonna get the right coil. I could understand if he was wrong saying he had a turbo and it be a super charger..... But I mean coil pack vrs ignition coil.... Why try to punk him out on that? We all knew what he was talking about.....
