It is an 04, 05, 06 radio. The mounting is questionable though

The Expy, Navigator radio is too big to fit the hole. The mounting tabs on the bottom also would have to be removed. I'd stick with the Escape radio. The Expy radio would work in 2002-05 Explorers/Mountaineers, but not the F150s.

Yes to using the radio antenna, not navigation antenna, for the ground.

Actually it is the only Ford radio that has navigation that will fit the hole exactly and is the only one that has the correct mounting tabs to retain the head also.

I did forget to mention, you have to remove the white alignment tab at the rear, as it is in the way, otherwise, the radio is perfect fit in size.

Here is a picture of the back of the Escape navigation head. Note where things go. You will need to find a plug for the audio controls, if you should want to add them, as I'm going to do also. That is this spring, when I put in the Lincoln Navigator steering wheel, and will then use the audio controls functions. It looks like the same harness design that I used in my 07 Mustang. Looking forward to that part of the mod next.

thank you sir for the write up. There's a Navi with a gray interior in a salvage yard a few blocks from. Would You be interested in the steering wheel and audio control harness. The yard owner hates anything ford and try's to sell things cheap. If you don't want the parts, I'll pick them with a few other things I need from it

Hmm... Looks like I will need a plug to splice into my amp wiring harness. This is what mine looks like

IF its for a amp you will need a line output converter. You can use it right behind the radio. Just splice it in the harness when you build it.

I've used these in the past.
