I'd love to do this with factory steering wheel controls and such like jferg92. But I dont feel like having to buy a $300-$400 dollar sound processor to get enough line outputs to drive my amps.

Ya I have the same feeling that I'll want to outgrow this unit.
Frankly though, I want steering wheel controls over an iPhone interface. I will just make do with an fm tuner

You can find a double din on Craigslist for the same price it takes to do this. Yea it won't look factory, but you have like 2-3 RCA outputs, Bluetooth streaming music and hands free, you can watch DVD's, and you can have a USB input for flash drives for movies and playlists. I like to keep things factory, but some things are horrible, like stock stereo's. I'm sure 70% of the forum members have aftermarket radios for sound, Bluetooth, or something else.

You can buy a brand new App-Radio for $299 that has full control of phone (screen mirror to device, Google maps, tom tom, bluetooth, pictures, video, Sirius XM, and so much more, even Netflix and Hulu LMAO) Tell me the app-radio wouldn't look bad in that slot.

There are providers who offer unlimited data. That's why these have USB support. You can put 10 DVD's and 1,000 songs on a 20 gig flash drive.

Google maps, Netflix, etc all those things sound like they would need to stream

Google maps I believe works without data, because of the GPS in your phone. Data helps accuracy IIRC. All streaming would require data, but like I said, carriers have unlimited data. I would take a app-radio with no data transfer to it over this stock replacement.

Which one do you have? Do you mind taking a picture of it in the radio slot? I'm looking to buy one soon. Thanks.

I've been looking at them, but can't stomach buying one for $700+. I'm a techie so I couldn't get one with a crappy screen as it would bug the crap out of me. Plus my single din pioneer with Bluetooth works just fine.
