Feeling Pretty Dumb! Hydraulic Brake Issue?
I just finished changing out the fuel pump on my 2001 Ford F-150 Super Cab. After removing the bed and replacing and testing the fuel pump, I see a "dangling hose" that appears just dangling from what I thought was the hydraulic brake block that then splits and runs to the two rear wheels. I am obviously concerned! So what is this dangling hose? Where is it supposed to end up at? It looks like the end is broke off, but I'm not sure. See the below picture. I am definitely feeling pretty dumb right at this moment - hope someone makes me "smart" - because I'm not sure whether I should be in a panic or not! Stumped.

Rear Axle Vent Tube
Thanks so much! I just strapped the tube out of the way so it's not hanging down to the ground. Brakes work fine. I have been systematically renewing, replacing, lubricating, etc. this truck since buying it three weeks ago. Saw the tubing hanging when we pulled the bed off this morning to replace the fuel pump assembly. The fuel pump was much easier then I thought it would be - mainly because I got my three boys (25, 21, and 18 years) to come home and help me. Took 1.75 hours to change out the fuel pump assembly - including removal and install of the bed liner.
