Torsion bar delete?
I really wanna get rid of my torsion bar setup on my 98 f150 4wd. Im not looking for the most expensive long travel setup, just the front suspension off a newer f150 that doesnt use the torsion setup. I've been searching and searching the forum and multiple sites to try and find which ones didnt have the torsion bars but not having any luck. Anyone know what year and model's these were or a site that has the parts im looking for?

Maybe the 09-present series. Torsion bars are standard on IFS trucks right now. Hard to work around coils and struts with a live axle. Easier just going to a solid axle and if your crawling rocks or mudding it will probably work out better, allowing you to flex through obstacles and not have to deal with the front IFS. If your on a budget, start with leafs then work your way to coils and a 4 link. You may want to look into Xtreme 4x4, they have a project where they do just that to a late model K5.

Yea I been watchin that K5 build that thing is badass! But yea unfortunately Im def on a budget and was hoping I could get the front control arms and the springs and swap them with a lot less fab to install them. I would love to do a SAS on it but I dont do that extreme trails where I would have to do that. Im actually in the middle of rebuilding my motor I spun a rod bearing. Just looking at the stock setup was trying to think of how I could get rid of the T bars without having to go all out and fab up a whole custom front end.

Yea. As far as I'm still aware, its still torsion up front on the 4WD trucks. Struts on the rear. But if it is the 09-present models your still looking at quite a bit of cash and should maybe just look at pulling out of an older body F-series already set with everything you need. Either way you would pretty much loose ABS if you have it.

Ya'll need to do some more searching... 97-03 is torsion bars and 04+ up is coils..
Only way to delete torsion bars is going with Dixion Bros long travel which is about.. 5k for the front with shocks.. or doing a SAS which is alot of custom fab since there isn't a direct bolt up kit.
Highly doubt you can mount 04+ suspension to our trucks without major fab but who knows.. Never heard of it being done so it probably isn't easy.

Ive been on google for like the last three hours apparently it isnt being my friend tonight haha. Even if I had to make towers for it and new brackets that still isnt as bad as a complete SAS. The most suspension work Ive done is lift kits and thats about it. Im only 22 so I learn a lot as I do it and trying to soak up as much advice and pointers from older guys to help me along to get it done. Did they make those front coil suspensions for 4wd?

Yea I'm only 19, but I've spend enough time under Duramax's, Cummins' and Jeeps fixing front suspension and lifting them to know the basics of most major suspensions. (3/4 ton trucks can fly, the landing is the issue). This is where comparing the frame rails on older body's would come in handy. Me and a friend want to put a SAS in his S10 next summer and we were just gonna see if any S10's were ever made with solid's up front. If not, a Dana 44 off a Jeep should be close enough. You'll lose ABS if you get an older axle.

You know, I would agree with that. My first vehicle was a 88 Samurai with a 8" SPOA and a 2" body lift. If you were going 65 mph you were hauling *** for that little thing. Locked up the brakes a few times until I taught myself how to brake. Applies now to my 02 F150 (abs had been mandated on this year), still let off the pedal to make a sudden steering correction. The 99 Cherokee I drive all over the place has a 3.5" on it and it doesn't have ABS either. Plus, when you drive a lot of dirt, abs does you no good to begin with.
