F150 w/7700 package
Anybody have a F150 4x4 with the 7700 package. Seven lug wheels 16" tires and fairly heavy duty suspension.I was told they were only made for two years. Kind of a stiff ride but really tows well.

i had one. i didnt think it rode that terrible. i think they made it through 99. i had an 97 f250 that had the f150 body and everything but had the 7700 towing package. had the chrome 7 lug wheels. i had a goose neck hitch in it and i pulled a 24 foot cattle trailor around all the time. itd pretty much pull anything i put behind it. only problem it had it would blow coils constantly. drove me nuts replacing them. it was my first truck of my own and i loved it. had big tires heavy duty grill guard. had the 4 in the floor instead of the new swtiches. personally like the 4x4 in the floor leaves less room for elctronic screw ups. what else you want to know bout it?

Mine is an 01' extended cab with the electronic 4x switch that I am not too crazy about. It also has torsion bar front sunspension that is a lot stiffer than an 01' 2x I have driven. I bought it used off the Ford lot and it came with Hankook 10pr tires that should wear like iron.
I was just wondering how popular this package is.

I have the same as justice1736 and mine drops a coil about every six months. The ride is not any worse than any other F150 I've ever been in I don't know what the stock ride feels like because I've always had big tires on it. It will pull anything the other day I had 3000lbs of sand bags in the bed. You can see a picture of it on the left

I was wondering about the parts. I have to replace the pinion seal pretty soon. My parts man said it's best to bring the old one in for a matchup.

My dad has a 2000 and he and his dad used it to tow a 45ft camper to canada and back. He put a magnaflow catback exhaust on it (thats the only mod). I dont really feel anything when it hits pot holes and it sounds realy cool and awesome.
