F150 Alarm System
I have a 2000 F150 XLT Extended Cab VIN#: 1FTRX17W2YNA88597 and I'm pretty sure it has an alarm but havent seen any kind of siren anywhere, So does it have an alarm? also I wanted to know if it had the keyless entry?. I have an aftermarket Keyless entry that cranks your car also but wanted to know about this. Thanks

I don't know but I would think if you get in the truck roll the window down lock the doors with the power lock switch, wait about a minute, unlock the door by hand by pulling the lock up and then opening the door from the outside handle would set off the alarm if it has one. It could be using the horn as the siren.
Does it have a keyless entry keypad? If so, then I would at least think it came with remotes when new. That doesn't mean it has an alarm though. My 02 and my 05 had keyless with no alarm. The remotes even had a panic button that would sound the horn.

90% of the manufactured trucks/cars don't have an actual alarm. They have remote keyless entry. But some do come with a factory alarm. The way to find out. Is get ahold of a FOB Clicker. Which is the keyless entry pad. Get in the truck. Shut the doors. Then cycle the locks 2 times. Lock them then unlock them. Do that 2 times. Then tunr the ignition from the run position to off 8 times. And on the 8th time leave the ignition in the run position. Don't start it. The locks should then cycle. And then hit the lock button on the FOB Clicker. And it will be programmed. But if the locks do not cycle then it's not set up for it. That would mean you do not have a factory alarm. And you can do the ignition thing without having a keypad.

Location of Computer
I have a 2001 F-150 Lariat Supercrew with remote entry and the keypad on the door. I need to know how to locate the computer so I can get the factory code to the keypad. Where the heck is that thing? Someone said it is near the jack, but I have searched all around there without success. Do I need to start removing plastic panels? If so, where?
Thanks...

On all the vehicles with the keyless entry keypads. You would have to have someone hook it up to a computer. In order to pull the code. I looked for it on alldata. And I talked to one of the service techs here at my work. Which is Leif Johnson Ford. And he told me that you have to hook it up to a computer inorder to pull the code. I would just say take it to a lock smith. they should have the right equipment to pull the code.

On a supercrew, you have to pull the back seat top portion. That's where the GEM is located. There is a barcoded sticker there with the FACTORY code.
Now do a search on threads for removal of rear seat, the instructions are there.
Have fun!

Yeah there is a code for the key pad on the GEM. The newer F150's are behind the rear seat and it's a pain in the ***** to take out, yours is not though. Get a flashlight and get your head down by E-brake and kick panel, look up you'll see the GEM box. It will have a few numbers on it. The lager numbers (5 of them) will be the original entry code.
