Default f150 7700 axle shafts

got a used '01 F-150 bi-fuel w' the 7700 package

it has worn axle shafts (that are d/c'd by ford) that a shop can't find a replacement part for

where can I get them?

called nitro gear and JT differentials and the websites show them in stock, but on the phone, they do not

Front or rear shafts? Have you tried Yukon, Motive, or G2? How about the junkyards?

for the rear

Yukon doesn't even list the part...Motive also doesn't have any 2wd/10.25" options...G2 - only for jeeps/old toyota's

junkyards have plenty F150's, but no 7-lugs

7700 = super secret special model, ha = 7 lug, 10.25" semi floating sterling

Can't even find the parts from the websites searching the F250 light duty

found a used one in canada on fleabay...not sure I want to chance $400 on axle shafts that may also be trashed...and have to ship back to Canada

Wow you weren't joking, I searched for a good bit and could not find any replacements either. Four wheeler magazine did a review on it and they even stated that the axle shafts aren't mass produced.

Since you live in SoCal your options are greater than most. But you will have to do the legwork. Junkyards, I know you said they don't have any. But if you haven't already, try all of them, and don't just call go in person and verify yourself. Anything over a 50mi radius, call and ask as many as you can. I would be very shocked if you couldn't find anything in CA.

I know those 7700s are rare, but they are beefy trucks with all the right components.

I went through this last spring. My rear end makes a noise at 65-80km/hr, and I ended up completely rebuilding my rear end and spending a pile of money. There are ZERO replacements for these axle shafts. If only they put the full floated 8 lug in...

For what it's worth, there are 3-4 7700's with intact rear ends here in the Calgary Pick 'n Pull. I've considered stealing one, since even after the thousands I've spend on the rear end, it still makes the noise and drives me bananas. I just can't bring myself to go through the effort of pulling off a rear end for a sound that doesn't really seem to affect anything. I think it's a problem with the actual casting of the housing at the pinion bearing output. Even had the driveshaft balanced.

They're out there, and I heard that 7700's were only really popular in Canada. But yeah... I was just there two weeks ago and there were 4. Sorry I'm not more help, but I feel your pain! I tried getting axle shafts as well. Sigh. This makes me think that maybe I should take one of those rear ends and grab a couple of axle shafts for you. Lol. No promises though, with two kids life is crazy and weekends precious

thanks for the help everyone!

turns out - the axle shafts/differential drive just fine. The "clunk" I feel only happens on CNG...I'm guessing the CNG system isn't working properly, so it is signaling the transmission all wrong. The shifts get sloppy and the torque converter lock up isn't operating properly.

When I drive on gasoline, it drives without those symptoms. It still has a little more "slop" in the differential than my dedicated CNG F-150, but not worth spending $1,100-$1,500 to have fixed.

I'm not going to swap the axle anymore...but I will likely get my CNG system serviced
