If I take the wheels off, I will take shots of the calipers.

Where did you come up with the idea ? Is there a write-up ? How did you get the info ? What type of pistons were in the calipers?
Curious, never heard of this like I said.
Btw, - your user name looks familiar, but I can't place it. Are you on another truck site as well?

Yea, I'm just wondering why they would do this for the Expy's and not the trucks. The Expy's are most likley a little heavier, regardless, the trucks (1/2Tons) are rated the same and quite often have something in the bed or something in tow. It just doesn't make sense. Not saying I don't believe, - I just want to see it lol.

Yes also on the other f-150 sites. My truck has been my nemesis, so these sites have been helpful.

I'm confused again but that's not too unusual.
I thought we've been over all of this in that other big Brake thread? The Supercrew is based off of the Expedition which have different/larger Calipers & Rotors than the Standard and Extended cabs. (Same as the 7700.)
Then the only difference between the Supercrew & the Expedition is the dual pistons in the calipers are Metal and not phenolic like in the Supercrew.
The Rotors are the same diameter between the Supercrew & Expedition but many of the new production are thicker.
What doesn't make sense is that the OP said he upgraded but I'm not sure what he upgraded since he already has a Supercrew.

So, if you are implying that I bought different parts but they were the same as the ones I removed, you would be incorrect. They're different. Whether they are "upgraded" I guess is a matter of opinion.
I don't think the Screw brakes are the same as the 7700. This is evidence of that. As is the different part numbers for 7700 and Screw parts.

@Wolvee - Not sure which trucks had the steel pistons. I'm not sure the half ton series had them at all. From what I hear, I guess so. I obtained mine thru Rock Auto online back 08. They are Cardon's. Back then (not sure if they still do) Cardon was the only 3rd party supplier offering a choice in rebuilt FORD calipers, = You could either get them w/Metal or Phenolic pistons.
Anyway, that's what I new after quite a bit of research back then, - and that's what I ended up with. That and Brembo Rotors. Still going strong after what, 6 1/2 years. Same pads as well.

This is The thread I was referring to. We need a consolidated fact thread with part numbers.

Good thread, but Carcrazy keeps referring to Expo brakes, - ie Explorer. So I'm a little confused there. Others were referring to Expy's. No way am I putting Explorer brakes on a full size truck lol.
Other than that. I had better results that I thought I would have with the way I did it. Truck stops on a dime and nothing is wearing out. Before I went thru the brake system in 08, I was having some sort of brake problem every year lol.
